What makes charter schools successful?

Hello Everyone! I am a 5th year NYC High School Science teacher, and I’m researching what makes charter schools successful for my thesis study. I feel that as a teacher many times we are not able to voice opinions, though we can provide some of the greatest insight to a school’s workings. I would love to get some of your feedback on this topic.
